Reading Recommendation: Creativity, by The Oatmeal

I’m a fan of The Oatmeal. It’s original, the creator has a unique- and cute, illustration style. It’s published at an irregular pace- whenever the author, Matthew Inman, has something to publish. Creativity can’t be rushed, which he elegantly posits in this rather long, beautifully-illustrated comic. Matt has a unique point of view.

My own thoughts on Creativity are not that far off- while it is not necessarily “on demand”, you can do things to foster an environment conducive to Creativity. That is, talk- profusely, to others, read, declutter (physically and digitally), and give your mind space to wander. Get enough sleep, eat properly, and exercise. A strong body and a strong mind work together. Importantly, don’t get trapped by convention and false assumptions.
